Living Our Mission to Serve All

Thank you from Mrs. Kevic’ on behalf of Student Leadership:

A special and sincere thank you to all of the families of St.Patrick School for supporting the service projects that come up throughout the year.  Working here is truly a joy because of the incredible support of our school families. You are an inspiration to the staff and you set a marvelous example for our students.  Your actions are a visible reminder of what it means to reach out, to care, to help, to serve. I can’t thank you enough. Your support has helped Student Leadership to follow their heart to do service for our community:  104 snack sacks to Kids’ Food Basket, 67 new Christmas books for Flat River Outreach, the adoption of a red panda from WWF, supplies for the all-new Kateri School Garden, 125 gifts for the Dominican Sisters at Marywood, 48 new student welcome gifts, 50 Cinch Sacks filled with snacks and good wishes for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, as well as countless parish donations (eye glasses, baby items, coats, coins for HCA, just to name a few) throughout the year.

All students from 4th grade through 8th grade are invited to join the Shamrock Theatrical Players during the 2018-19 school year. Our new skills will be put to use by creating a production during the year (dates and title yet to be determined). Everyone is welcome regardless of their knowledge level, whether a beginner or accomplished actor. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Juliana Morano at or Mrs. Kevic.

St.AR WORKS, A Service Learning Course is Coming to St. Patrick School and Parish

Team Leaders will be preparing this summer amd will be ready to kick off a great program when school starts up again. We are looking forward to working with students of all grade levels who wish to share their heart for service with others. Works=saints are radiant works~of God.

Centennial School Quilt

The Festival Quilt Show 2018 will have on display the quilt made by school families in the 1990's.   The Quilt Show is being held on Sunday June 24 beginning about 1PM in the Church.  The quilt was made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the school, 1893-1993.  Families in the school were given fabric squares to design and volunteers, including the late Irma Malone, member of a longtime parish family, assembled the quilt.  You are invited to stop by the church at Festival to see this piece of commemorative history, as well as other quilts on display.

It is a one-time training - once you have had it, you are good to go!  Register at (set up a user name and pw; select Grand Rapids Diocese, select the session you will attend).  We'll receive notification when you complete the training.  There are many located around the Diocese on different days and different times.  Any session is OK to attend.

Heartstrings is a volunteer committee that supports our school community during the special times in our lives.  If there is a family dealing with sickness, the loss of a loved one, celebrating a new birth, or another one of life's many blessings, then we put together a meal or as many that are needed, to show our support and caring.  It is a simple dinner consisting of a main dish, side dish and dessert, either brought to school to send home or maybe delivered by you to the family.  This is an everyday way for us serve others and answer our call to be disciples of Christ.  When Heartstrings are needed, Katie Albert, Heartstrings chair,  will send out an email asking for volunteers for those three items (cooks choice) and the date that we need them.  It is not a huge commitment since we are helping when we are able, and you don't have to help every time.  If you would like to add your name to our list of volunteers or if you are already on our list for Heartstrings and wish to be removed, please contact Katie Albert (616)828-3527 or  Katie would be happy to answer any questions about our wonderful group.

Did you know that with a little planning ahead, SCRIP can lead to big tuition savings?  Last year, participating St. Patrick families saved a combined total of $5000 on their annual tuition costs!  SCRIP is a program where gift cards or gift certificates are purchased and used for the full face value and a percentage of the face value is credited to a specific child’s tuition account. SCRIP can be used at participating grocery stores, gas stations, retail stores, fast food, full service restaurants, etc. Friends and relatives can also purchase SCRIP and apply their proceeds to a specific child’s tuition account.

Here’s how it works: Sign up for the SCRIP program at St. Patrick School and designate the tuition account for the proceeds to be applied. Place an order by Monday – either online or by dropping the order form and payment off, and orders are sent home on Thursdays.  If SCRIPNow! is used online, SCRIP can be used within minutes. Now you can take your gift cards or certificates and use them as cash wherever you shop.  For more information, or to register an account, please contact Penny Spanbauer at 616.635.0385 or  To sign up online, please visit   The St. Patrick School enrollment code is D65LF3L2184
