Calling Future Farmers of America (FFA)

Is your child interested in a future career and leadership role in agriculture, food, science, and environment? We are gauging interest in beginning a new FFA club at St. Patrick's, working in partnership with Lowell FFA to provide activities and experiences that explore the field of agriculture. We plan to meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the library starting November 14 through February 1. The group will be led by Mr. Schut, Mrs. Schut, Mrs. McCauley and Mr. Nugent.  This program will be open to all St. Patrick School 7th & 8th graders, and also open to current St. Patrick Parish and St. Mary Parish 7th & 8th graders who attend REP or have a home school curriculum approved by our Faith Formation Director, Andrew Anderson.  Please contact our principal Scott Czarnopys if interested,

West Catholic Info Night

Learn more about the benefits of a faith-based education at West Catholic High School and attend one of these information sessions to speak with current parents and students.  Invest in your children as they continue their faith journey at a school nationally recognized by the Washington Post for its college prep curriculum.   West Catholic students are educated in a nurturing and challenging educational environment that prepares them for success beyond high school.  Students ‘participate, play and perform’ in extra curricular activities from an award winning marching band to championship athletic teams.  And when it is time for college, the average student is rewarded with scholarship offers totaling over $60,000.

Come learn how West Catholic will make a difference in your child’s future!

2018-19 Preschool & DK Priority Registration: Attention Parents!

We will soon send registration forms for the 18.19 school year. We have limited enrollment options for DK and KG programs due to building space and our desire to have reasonable classroom sizes.
If you do not plan to continue at St. Pat's, please reply so we can analyze the number of openings we will have next year.

Before the New Year, we will have an outlined process for DK/KG placement. We want to ensure that all students are given the appropriate development time before entering the 5-day all day KG program. At the same time, we want to continue to monitor classroom sizes to make them conducive for learning.

In our experience, DK has been an invaluable option for kids. Students get extra time to mature socially and to master skills academically before entering the 5-day program. We do offer a 5 day option for DK students with our all day care program at no extra cost then it would be to send a child here full time. If your child is currently in DK, he/she is guaranteed a placement in KG unless there are parent/teacher concerns.

An outline of the process for DK/KG will be communicated when completed and approved by our school board.

2018-19 Priority Registration: Attention Parents

We will soon begin priority enrollment for the 18.19 school year. Priority enrollment is an enrollment period for all families currently enrolled in the school. This enrollment period will end on Tuesday 11/21/2017. After Thanksgiving, enrollment will open to all families not currently enrolled in our school.  This year we have waiting lists for PS-KG and expect the same for PS-1st next school year.  We will do everything possible to enroll siblings while still managing our classroom size policy. Please make sure to let us know of any changes that may occur for your family next school year.  You will receive a message with all updated registration forms soon.

Pie Sale

Order Form

Orders & payment due November 7.  Pie Assembly Saturday is November 18 (more details to follow).  Top Selling Family receives a special Family Movie Night Gift Basket!

The Pie Sale is a long time tradition at St. Patrick's - 20 years or more, but who is counting??  It is made possible by St. Patrick Parishioner family, Tom & Laura Heffron.  Each year Tom & Laura save the BEST availability day for us (weekend before Thanksgiving!) and donate their time and some of the ingredients to insure we have a very profitable sale.  The ingredients are for the most part local - the fruit is grown and/or processed by Tom & Laura's farm, the flour is from King Milling in Lowell.  It's a special heritage we have at St. Patrick's and these pies are part of it...not to mention they are delicious!  There are parishioners and friends of the school who buy these pies year after year.  Did we mention they make great gifts?

If you need additional order forms, please contact the school office.  If you have any questions about the pie sale, please contact any of the PTO members at

It’s Baaaaaack! Friday (and a few Thursdays) Pizza Lunches Are Here!

The St. Patrick Sports Boosters will be holding Friday Pizza lunches beginning September 15 and ending on December 21 (14 weeks). Proceeds will go to the Sports Boosters to help fund athletics at St. Patrick School. Parents are welcome to complete a form each week, sending in the form and payment which are due by Wednesday of that week. For those who’d like to submit a one time payment for multiple weeks, simply complete the form and send in your payment by Wednesday of the week you’d like to begin. There are two weeks where we don’t have school on Friday. So, we’ll have pizza on Thursdays those two weeks, as noted on the form.

Heartstrings is a volunteer committee that supports our school community during the special times in our lives.  If there is a family dealing with sickness, the loss of a loved one, celebrating a new birth, or another one of life's many blessings, then we put together a meal or as many that are needed, to show our support and caring.  It is a simple dinner consisting of a main dish, side dish and dessert, either brought to school to send home or maybe delivered by you to the family.  This is an everyday way for us serve others and answer our call to be disciples of Christ.  When Heartstrings are needed, Katie Albert, Heartstrings chair,  will send out an email asking for volunteers for those three items (cooks choice) and the date that we need them.  It is not a huge commitment since we are helping when we are able, and you don't have to help every time.  If you would like to add your name to our list of volunteers or if you are already on our list for Heartstrings and wish to be removed, please contact Katie Albert (616)828-3527 or  Katie would be happy to answer any questions about our wonderful group.

Tuition Savings

Benefit is a free iPhone and Android app that allows you to shop at places like Target, Starbucks, Amazon, Walmart and many more, while giving up to 20% of every transaction back to your SMART tuition account, other designated tuition account or to general tuition assistance. Just shop as usual and when it comes time to checkout, use the Benefit app to purchase a digital gift card to redeem instantly.  For instance, buy $100 of Gap merchandise, and $8 (8%) goes back to your SMART tuition account, a designated tuition account or general tuition assistance.   It doesn't cost you a dime beyond what you were already going to spend.  It's raising funds without fundraising!

Download the app and select your school as your chosen beneficiary to start saving or giving today.

For more information go to Feel free to forward this email to family and friends. The more people who participate, the more you earn!

Did you know that with a little planning ahead, SCRIP can lead to big tuition savings?  Last year, participating St. Patrick families saved a combined total of $5000 on their annual tuition costs!  SCRIP is a program where gift cards or gift certificates are purchased and used for the full face value and a percentage of the face value is credited to a specific child’s tuition account. SCRIP can be used at participating grocery stores, gas stations, retail stores, fast food, full service restaurants, etc. Friends and relatives can also purchase SCRIP and apply their proceeds to a specific child’s tuition account.

Here’s how it works: Sign up for the SCRIP program at St. Patrick School and designate the tuition account for the proceeds to be applied. Place an order by Monday – either online or by dropping the order form and payment off, and orders are sent home on Thursdays.  If SCRIPNow! is used online, SCRIP can be used within minutes. Now you can take your gift cards or certificates and use them as cash wherever you shop.  For more information, or to register an account, please contact Penny Spanbauer at 616.635.0385 or  To sign up online, please visit   The St. Patrick School enrollment code is D65LF3L2184
